Mounds View City Council June 11, 1990 <br />Regular Meeting Page Seven <br />-------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley explained this is what has <br />been set aside in the budget, but they could evaluate <br />the budget to see if additional funds can be located. <br />He recommended the proposed improvements be approved <br />tonight. <br />Ms. Saarion reviewed the specific work to be done and <br />the bids received, for the fencing, backstop, warning <br />track and turf improvement. <br />Motion/Second: Quick/Wuori to approve the recommenda- <br />tion as stated, with the inclusion of the backstop <br />in the amount of $1,796, for the Greenfield Park <br />baseball field. <br />5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />Motion/Second: Hankner/Paone to appoint Councilmember 16. Appointment of <br />Quick to be the Councilmember to serve on the Fire Councilmember <br />Department Bond Referendum Task Force. to Fire Depart- <br />ment Task Force <br />5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />• Clerk/Administrator explained that as a result of 17. Consideration <br />actions taken by the Legislature in the past few of Resolution <br />months, the City expects a reduction in local govern- No. 3043 <br />ment aid in the amount of $31,159.. The proposed Amending the <br />resolution reduces revenue and .expenditure line 1990 Budget <br />items as necessary, to keep the budget in balance. <br />Motion/Second: Paone/Blanchard to approve Resolution <br />No. 3043, amending the 1990 general fund budget. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Mayor Hankner called a short recess at 7:59 PM. The <br />Spring Lake Park City Council joined the Mounds View <br />City Council when the meeting was called back to <br />order at 8:05 PM, for a joint public hearing to con- <br />sider the proposal of the Spring Lake Park Lion's <br />Club to rename Lakeside Park. The Spring Lake Park <br />Council was introduced as Councilmembers Mason, <br />Mathiowetz, Conde, Carlson and Mayor Wells. <br />Mayor Hankner declared the public hearing as opened <br />and welcomed the Spring Lake Park Council and explained <br />the purpose for holding the joint public hearng. <br />• Bill Stuart, 857 Valentine, introduced himself as a <br />representive from the Lion's Club and explained why <br />they are asking for a name change. He noted in the <br />past the Lion's have not gone out and asked for <br />Motion Carried <br />18. Public Hearing: <br />Consideration <br />of Proposal of <br />Spring Lake <br />Park Lion's <br />Club to Rename <br />Lakeside Park <br />
