Mounds View City Council Page Two <br />~egular Meeting May 24, 1993 <br />SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS: <br />a. Tim Cruikshank, Assistant to the City Administrator, presented to <br />the Mounds View City Council and Mounds View City Staff a Meritorious <br />Achievement Award in Recognition of Outstanding Accident Prevention <br />Performance in Occupational Safety. Cruikshank explained that <br />each year the Minnesota Safety Council, in conjunction with the <br />Governor's Office, awards those organizations who have shown exemplary <br />efforts and achievements in the area of occupational safety. <br />Cruikshank, on behalf of the .City, congratulated all City employees <br />and, in particular, the Public Works Maintenance workers, the Parks, <br />Recreation and Forestry Maintenance workers and the patrol officers for <br />their efforts in minimizing accidents in the City of Mounds View. <br />Mayor Linke accepted this award on behalf of the City Council and <br />commended all employees of the City for their conscientious efforts <br />in the area of occupational safety. <br />b. Mayor Linke read a proclamation that was presented to D.A,R.E. <br />Officer Bob Nelson proclaiming Friday, May 28, 1993, as "Officer <br />Bob Day" in the City of Mounds View. In the proclamation it was <br />explained that Officer Bob Nelson has gone far above and beyond <br />what might be expected of a D.A.R.E. officer. <br />Officer Bob Nelson accepted the proclamation and thanked the <br />Council, Pinewood School Staff, City Hall Staff, the parents <br />of the students of Pinewood Elementary School and the children <br />themselves for all the support he has received regarding the <br />D.A.R.E. Program. <br />RESIDENTS REOUESTS AND COMMENTS FROM THE FLOOR <br />There were no residents requests or comments pertaining to issues not on the <br />agenda presented at this meeting. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Mayor Linke called to order the public hearing regarding a request for <br />Conditional Use Permit, 8371 Pleasant View Drive, Planning Case No. 361-93, <br />Oversized Accessory Building at 7:08 p.m. Paul Harrington, City Planner, <br />reviewed Staff Report No. 93-509C reporting that the applicant had made <br />application for a Conditional Use Permit to allow the construction of an <br />accessory building which exceeds the maximum allowable square footage as per <br />Mounds View Municipal Code. Harrington stated that the Planning Commission <br />recommended approval of this request at the May 5, 1993, Planning Commission <br />Meeting. Harrington further stated that he had included in Council Packet <br />Resolution No. 4371 approving the Conditional Use Permit. <br />No discussion followed staff's reviewal of the request for Conditional Use <br />~ermit for 8371 Pleasant View Drive. Mayor Linke closed the public hearing <br />at 7:10 p.m. <br />
