unds View City Council <br />~gular Meeting <br />Page Seven <br />April 22, 1991 <br />look into service delivery processes and make a <br />determination as to what services can be <br />cooperatively shared. <br />Ramsey County cities had requested that the Ramsey <br />County League of Local Governments, which was <br />created by the legislature, conduct the study. <br />However, the legislature will mandate who will <br />conduct the study. <br />The Ramsey County delegation has given approval to <br />the creation of a 6 member board or commission to <br />investigate the concept of a suburban center <br />which-would eliminate New Brighton Municipal Court <br />and Maplewood Municipal Court. <br />City Administrator Orduno announced the Goal Setting <br />Session that will be attended by Council, Department <br />Heads and staff on the 10th and 11th of May at the <br />IDS Conference Center in Chaska, Minnesota. <br />• 4. Report of Staff: <br />Finance Director-Treasurer Don Brager introduced <br />Mr. Charles Clysdale from the MacGuire Agency, the <br />City's insurance agency, who introduced the City's <br />insurance proposal received from the League of <br />Minnesota Cities. <br />Renewal of the City's insurance coverage with the <br />League of Minnesota Cities will be $142,255. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Rickaby to approve the renewal <br />of the City's insurance coverage with the League of <br />Minnesota Cities at a rate of $142,255. <br />5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />5. Report of Attorney: <br />City Attorney Barney commented that if the New <br />Brighton and Maplewood Courts are moved downtown as <br />part of a suburban center the cost to Mounds View <br />will be 1/2 again of its current prosecution budget. <br />Attorney Barney is pushing to keep suburban court <br />in New Brighton or proposing Mounds View and is <br />also pushing for one site for all suburbs of the <br />City. <br />
