ounds View City Council <br />~egular Meeting <br />Page Twelve <br />June 22, 1992 <br />Park and Recreation Commission and some local businessmen take <br />part in this task force study. <br />REPORTS: <br />Report of Councilmembers: <br />Councilmember Ouick would like to request that the Environmental <br />Quality Task Force look at a solution to the discard of mercury <br />batteries to see if at a City level we could collect them. <br />Councilmember Rickaby stated that Carla Asleson had worked on <br />this issue before and found that Coast to Coast collects them <br />but just stockpiles them. <br />Councilmember Blanchard - No report. <br />Councilmember Rickaby - Would like to have a report <br />of bank proposals put on next work session agenda. Rickaby <br />would also like to see discussion of billing collection methods <br />• for utility bills put on agenda. The reason for this is the fact <br />that new costs have been added. Rickaby stated the City will have <br />increasing delinquencies. Rickaby stated this was discussed at <br />the beginning of the year in addition to some proposals for <br />changes in the billing method. Rickaby stated the City may have <br />to consider the feasibility of going to monthly billings. <br />Councilmember Wuori - No report. <br />Mayor Linke's Report <br />1. Announced that the ribbon cutting and tour of the <br />new filtration plant was held at 6:00 p.m. this <br />evening. Thanks to Mike Ulrich and Ric Minetor. <br />2. This morning at 10:00 a.m. Mayor Linke attended the <br />groundbreaking for 610 in Blaine. The groundbreaking <br />was held at the ice arena because of rain. <br />3. Mayor Linke announced that he had received a letter <br />from Sheriff Zacharias scheduling a meeting for Tuesday, <br />June 30 at 7:00 p.m. at Shoreview City Hall on the <br />dispatch services. This is the third meeting, the first <br />two meetings were held for the police chiefs and fire <br />chiefs. Samantha and Mayor Linke will attend. <br /> <br />
