~ounds View City Council <br />Regular Meeting <br />Page Five <br />March 9, 1992 <br />the final plans for reconstruction of County Road J and authorize the <br />City Engineer/ Director of Public Works to sign said plans for the <br />City. <br />MOTION~SECOND: Wuori/Blanchard to adopt Resolution No. 4204 <br />Approving Plans for the Reconstruction of Long Lake Road Between <br />County Road H and County Road J <br />Mayor Linke asked with regard to a time line for the start of <br />the project. Minetor stated May or early June as it takes <br />approximately 6 weeks depending upon how quickly the state aid <br />office processes the paperwork. <br />Councilmember Quick asked if there would be a sidewalk on the left <br />side and if Long Lake Road would be 4 lanes wide like County Road I and <br />County Road H2, and if this road would be typical of what is in <br />New Brighton. <br />Minetor responded that there would be a sidewalk on the left side <br />and the road would be 4 lanes wide like County Roads I and H and <br />would it be constructed typical of what the roads are in New Brighton. <br />. Councilmember Rickaby commented regarding adding a sidewalk and <br />Ramsey County wanting to turn the road back to us. <br />Minetor stated that Ramsey County was not going forward with the <br />changes that were suggested in the consolidation report. <br />Mayor Linke stated that before any changes can be made with regards <br />to roads being turned over to the City from the County, this Council <br />must approve them. <br />Councilmember Rickaby asked what the distance would be between the <br />sidewalk and the boulevard. <br />Minetor responded that there would be 6 foot boulevards between the <br />curb and sidewalk. <br />Councilmember Rickaby asked if there was a City ordinance which <br />prohibited bicycles from using sidewalks and who pays for the clearing <br />of the sidewalks. <br />Minetor replied that there is no ordinance which prohibits bicycles <br />from using sidewalks in the City and the City would be responsible <br />for keeping the sidewalks clear. <br />Councilmember Wuori asked if this was a two stage project beginning <br />at the south and working north. <br />
