Mounds View City Council December 13, 2010 <br />Regular Meeting Page 12 <br />1 <br />Council Member Hull requested a correction on Page 8, Line 36, to read Pat Pringle. 2 <br />3 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull. To Approve the November 22, 2010, City Councilmeeting4 <br />minutes as corrected. 5 <br />6 <br />Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 7 <br />8 <br />11. REPORTS9 <br />A. Reports of Mayor and Council. 10 <br />11 <br />Mayor Flaherty reported last Thursday he and Heidi Steinmetz attended a meeting withbusiness12 <br />leaders in the community at Western Bank. He indicated the meetings would continue specificto13 <br />the needs of Mounds View business owners. Mayor Flaherty encouraged all Council Membersto14 <br />participate in these meetings in the future. 15 <br />16 <br />Council Member Mueller stated she and Chief Kinney attended a reception last week forSusan17 <br />Gardiner, Ramsey County District Attorney. The reception was very well attended bylocal18 <br />representatives. She felt the City was blessed by Ms. Gardiner’s service and dedication tothe19 <br />community. 20 <br />21 <br />B. Reports of Staff. 22 <br />23 <br />1. Announce that the December 27, 2010, EDA and City CouncilMeetings24 <br />are cancelled. 25 <br />26 <br />City Administrator Ericson reminded Council and staff the City would not be holdingits27 <br />December 27, 2010 EDA or City Council Meeting. He then congratulated CouncilMember28 <br />Gunn for completing the League of Minnesota Cities land use basics training course. 29 <br />30 <br />City Administrator Ericson stated he would be attending the North Metro Mayor’sAssociation31 <br />Annual Meeting on Wednesday, December 15th. All Council Members were invited to attend. 32 <br />Mayor Flaherty indicated he had another engagement that evening. 33 <br />34 <br />City Administrator Ericson indicated the AFSCME contract was signed and first round ofLELS35 <br />negotiations were held last week. Conversations would continue the first of the year. The City’s36 <br />housing program would need to be discussed further by the EDA in January as staff hasreceived37 <br />fee estimates from GMHC. The suggested fees were reviewed with the Council. He38 <br />recommended this be discussed at the January EDA meeting with GMHC representatives. 39 <br />40 <br />City Administrator Ericson stated the personnel manual was under further review. Additional41 <br />revisions were necessary and outdated policies would be updated. He proposed theCouncil42 <br />review a single section at a time to allow the Council to become familiar with this document. 43 <br />44
