<br /> <br />Second Reading and Adoption of Ordinance 872, Amending Chapter 1008 of the City Code about Dynamic Display Signs. <br /> <br />City Administrator Ericson stated this item was introduced on May 14th and the Second Reading this evening would allow for the adoption of an Ordinance amending Chapter 1008 of the City <br /> Code regarding Dynamic Display signs. He reviewed the language changes noting the Code would now allow for dynamic display signs to be mounted to buildings. Staff recommended approval <br /> of the Ordinance amendment. <br /> <br />Council Member Stigney questioned if Staff was aware of the standard size used for dynamic display signs in the industry. City Administrator Ericson was unaware of any industry standards. <br /> <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Gunn. To Waive the Second Reading and Adopt Ordinance 872, Amending Chapter 1008 of the City Code about Dynamic Display Signs and direct staff to publish a summary. <br /> <br />Council Member Stigney indicated he would not support the Ordinance due to the fact the size was not properly restricted. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL: Hull/Stigney/Mueller/Gunn/Flaherty. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 1 (Stigney) Motion carried. <br /> <br />Resolution 7953, Approving the Purchase of Chemical Feed Pumps. <br /> <br />Public Works Supervisor Peterson explained that one of the responsibilities of the Public Works Department was to efficiently distribute water in the City. Chemicals and fluoride are <br /> used to purify the City’s water and were quite harsh on the feed pumps. Quotes were received to replace the City’s feed pumps from three different vendors. The low bidder was from <br /> Vessco out of Chanhassen, Minnesota in the amount of $9,267.30 plus tax. <br /> <br />Public Works Supervisor Peterson indicated the expense would cover the purchase of two chlorinators, two sulphonators, four injectors and four automatic switch over systems. Staff recommended <br /> a 5% contingency for any unforeseen expenditures not to exceed $465. This was a budgeted expense and funds were available for the purchase of the chemical feed pumps. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller questioned if the City regularly tested the water from Well No. 5 and 6. Public Works Supervisor Peterson indicated the water from all wells is tested regularly <br /> by City Staff. He indicated Staff charts the level of chemicals used on a daily basis as well. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 7953, Approving the Purchase of Chemical Feed Pumps. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried.
