In order to complete these tasks, the Public Works Department uses an air compressor. Currently, the City’s air compressor was purchased used in 1980 and as it has aged, parts were becoming more difficult to find. A quote was received from the State of Minnesota Cooperative Purchasing Venture for a 185 JDU air compressor for $16,230.04 minus the $3,000 trade in value of the City’s current unit. The total cost to the City would be $13,730.04. Staff recommended a 5% contingency of $686.50 and that the Council approve the purchase of a new air compressor. Mayor Flaherty was pleased the original unit had lasted the City 30 years. MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 7955, Approving the Purchase of a New Air Compressor. Council Member Mueller thanked the Public Works Department for securing a trade in value for the old unit. Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 8.
