To Approve the April 23, 2012, City Council meeting minutes as presented. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />11. REPORTS <br /> Reports of Mayor and Council. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller stated on Thursday, May 31st at 7:00 p.m. at the Maplewood City Hall the Ramsey County League of Local Governments would be holding a meeting discussing Law Enforcement <br /> in Ramsey County. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller indicated on June 2nd and 3rd the Discover Aviation Days at the Blaine Airport would take place. She explained a traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall would be present <br /> at the event and encouraged all to attend. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller explained last week she attended the graduation of Officer Nick Erickson and K-9 dog Niko. She was pleased with the press coverage at the event and congratulated <br /> Officer Erickson on his accomplishments. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller congratulated all 2012 Mounds View graduates. She then reviewed the Music in the Park schedule. It was noted Festival in the Park would be held on August 18th. <br /> Volunteers were still needed to assist with the event and she encouraged those interested to contact her. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller noted the League of Minnesota Cities Conference would be held in Duluth this June 20-22, 2012. She would be attending the conference and was proud to note the <br /> Minnesota Women in Government would be hosting an event on Wednesday evening. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty reported he and staff met with the faith based institutions in the community last week to hold a brainstorming session on how these groups could better meet the needs <br /> of the public. He would report back to the Council on future meetings. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty indicated the Anoka County Airport was going to hold off indefinitely on resurfacing the east/west runway. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty commented the piles of dirt outside of Red Oak Estates have been addressed by Mr. Harstad and he appreciated his efforts. The mounds of dirt were reduced considerably <br /> and the area was seeded.
