RESOLUTION NO. 10050 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> AUTHORIZE RECRUITMENT OF 2025 PARKS AND RECREATION SEASONAL <br /> POSITIONS AND APPROVE ASSISTANT LEAD JOB DESCRIPTION <br /> WHEREAS, Resolution 5546 requires seasonal positions be approved by the Mounds <br /> View City Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, Council approved the City operating a Parks and Recreation Department in <br /> 2020; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Human Resources Committee discussed with staff and agree job <br /> descriptions are needed and recruitment should begin for the Parks and Recreation seasonal job <br /> openings; and <br /> WHEREAS, staff is requesting authorization to hire One (1) Summer Program <br /> Coordinator; up to two (2)Assistant Leads; up to two (2) Activities Specialists; up to four (4) Lead <br /> Counselors; up to eight (8) Assistant Counselors; and, up to four (4) Sports Officials; and <br /> WHEREAS, a job description has been created for the Assistant Lead position, all other <br /> positions previously had job descriptions approved; and <br /> WHEREAS, all positions will be seasonal positions and available as internships; and <br /> WHEREAS, for 2025, Staff is recommending that new hires start at the following hourly <br /> rates: Summer Program Coordinator: $20.60 - $22.66/hour; Assistant Lead $17.51 - <br /> $19.57/hour; Activities Specialist $16.48/hour; Lead Counselor $16.48/hour; Assistant <br /> Counselor $15.45; and Sports Official $16.48/hour; with returning employees receiving a <br /> $0.50/hour wage increase if the hourly wage is the same as or less than the wage they made in <br /> the prior summer season. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City Council does <br /> authorize the recruitment of 2025 Parks and Recreation seasonal positions with wages stated <br /> above, and approves the job descriptions. <br /> Adopted this 10t" day of February, 2025. <br /> Zach Lindstrom, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Nyle Zikmund, City Administrator <br /> (SEAL) <br />
