5/02/2024 - Meet and Greet <br /> Sgt. Schultes and K9 Grizz participated in a meet and greet with attendees at the SBM <br /> Senior Citizen Fair. They also performed a demonstration in obedience and <br /> apprehension for a group of about 125. At the end of the demonstration, Sgt. Schultes <br /> answered questions from the group about the MVPD K9 Unit. <br /> 05/30/2024 - Assist Other Agency-New Brighton <br /> Officer Aase was requested by New Brighton Department of Public Safety for a K9 sniff <br /> on a traffic stop near the intersection of Interstate 35W and County Road C in <br /> Roseville. Officer Aase gathered information upon arrival. Officer Aase deployed K9 <br /> Ace for a vehicle sniff. K9 Ace worked the entire vehicle, showing a change in behavior <br /> near the rear driver door by the gas tank. K9 Ace also showed a change in behavior <br /> near the driver side door. K9 Ace gave two positive alerts for the presence of narcotics. <br /> The vehicle was searched and narcotic paraphernalia was located. <br /> 06/07/2024 - Assist Other Agency-Roseville <br /> Officer Aase and K9 Ace were requested for a large group of approximately 200 plus <br /> people at 2527 Victoria St N. It was believed someone within the group had fired <br /> approximately five shots and they were requesting mutual aid. Officer Aase and K9 Ace <br /> responded to the location. Officer Aase used K9 Ace as a deterrent and had him bark <br /> at the large crowd from the squad car. After approximately one hour, the crowd was <br /> dispersed. <br /> 06/26/2024 - Meet and Greet/New Brighton Long Lake Regional Park <br /> Rock wall event for North Church. K9 Ace and Officer Aase made an appearance at a <br /> rock wall event for children. K9 Ace interacted with adults and children. Officer Aase <br /> handed out stickers and baseball cards and talked about the K9 program. <br /> Assist Other Agency-Roseville <br /> On 7/2/24 at 0456 hours, Officer Aase and K9 Ace were requested by Roseville PD for <br /> a K9 Deployment at 2745 Herschel St N. Roseville Officers were currently out on a <br /> fresh assault involving a knife. It was learned the suspect was barricaded in the <br /> apartment and refusing to exit. The suspect was known to Roseville Officers and was <br /> known to fight/flee from police. Officer Aase and K9 Ace arrived on scene and met up <br /> with other officers staged outside of the apartment. Negotiations were in the works at <br /> this time. Officer Aase gave multiple K9 warnings to get the suspect to exit peacefully <br /> and surrender. After approximately 30 minutes, the suspect surrendered to officers and <br /> he was taken into custody. <br /> Night to Unite <br /> Officer Aase and K9 Ace, and Sgt. Schultes and K9 Grizz volunteered to attend night to <br /> unite. The K9 unit attended numerous block parties. Officers talked with the community <br /> about our K9 program. At all block parties, the K9's were interacting with adults and <br /> children, allowing them to pet and play with them. The K9's also performed short <br /> demonstrations at parties showing off the assets they brings to the department. <br />
