Reserve Officer Unit
Quarter 4 Report — 2024
Reserve Officers volunteered a total of 88 hours in the fourth quarter of 2024. Reserve
Officer Traczyk put in about 30 hours into volunteering for the coat drive this year,
which resulted in 835 coats being donated! Reserve Officer Schmidt completed his
initial field training and is now certified for solo patrol. We look forward to him helping
our department, using his previous experience as a Reserve and his willingness to
better the community. Both Reserve Officer Traczyk and Schmidt assisted in
community outreach events, administrative duties, property checks, and assisted patrol
officers during traffic stops.
Along with the coat drive, Reserve Officer's Traczyk and Schmidt participated in the
SBM Santa Parade and Shop with a Cop. The MVPD had a tremendous amount of
help from the New Brighton Department of Public Safety and the Roseville Police
Department Reserves, working seamlessly with our patrol officers.
As we look toward 2025, the MVPD Reserve Unit is working with the New Brighton
Department of Public Safety and the Saint Anthony Police Department on joint training.
This will be a new endeavor and we look forward to this opportunity.
Pictured: CSO Sophia Frey, Reserve Officer Preston Schmidt, CSO Asa Overton, and
Reserve Officer Don Traczyk
