The NRO worked directly with the Mounds View Police Foundation as well as other <br /> Officers and staff from the department to plan and host 28 community outreach events <br /> throughout the year. Some events included: <br /> • The Mounds View Police Foundation in partnership with the MVPD successfully <br /> hosted their 7th annual Father Daughter Dance in February. <br /> • In February, Officers participated in the Polar Plunge again raising $2,376 for the <br /> Special Olympics. <br /> • The NRO worked with the MN Department of Commerce and Mounds View <br /> Public Works to hold a CATGUARD event to mark catalytic converts and deter <br /> their thefts. <br /> • MVPD Officers and staff participated in the Torch Run for the Minnesota Special <br /> Olympics. <br /> • On August 6th, the NRO coordinated with block party captains for the MVPD, <br /> SBM Fire and the Irondale marching band to attend 32 Block Parties, and 3 <br /> luncheons at senior complexes to celebrate Night to Unite. <br /> • The NRO and SRO were invited to attend a Halloween block party in the area of <br /> Adams Street and Bronson Drive <br /> • The Mounds View Police Department participated in the Salvation Army Coat <br /> Drive again this year. As one of several participating agencies, the MVPD <br /> collected over 800 coats in total, maintaining our reigning championship (and an <br /> autographed Justin Morneau bat). <br /> • The Mounds View PD, Police Foundation, and SBM Fire Department participated <br /> in Heroes and Helpers this year. The NRO worked with property managers, <br /> officers, and Ralph Reeder Food Shelf to identify families in need during the <br /> holiday season. Donations made by the Lions Club, Abiding Savior, and the <br /> Police Foundation made it possible to take 11 children shopping for holiday gifts <br /> as well as sponsor two additional young family members of some participants. <br /> • The NRO continued the Pink Patch Project which raised $760 for Crystal Police <br /> Department's Officer Daniela Romo. Officer Romo recently completed all of her <br /> Breast Cancer treatment and is looking forward to returning to work. <br /> Current and relevant information continues to be posted on Nextdoor.com, X (Formerly <br /> Twitter), and Instagram. <br />
