Mounds View City Council
Regular Meeting
9. REPORTS
June 10, 2002
Page 12
Community Development Director Ericson indicated he had received the census information for
the City and reviewed the following statistics: 29.% rental housing; 2.2% housing vacancy; 2.9%
unemployment; $60,685 median family income; 4.4% families in poverty; and $126,600 as the
median home value. He then indicated he intended to compare the census figures from 1990 to
the census figures for 2000 in his next quarterly report and would place census information on
the website.
Director Ericson indicated there would be a meeting at the Community Center at 6:00 p.m. on
June 17, 2002 to discuss the County Highway 10 redevelopment and asked any interested
residents to attend to provide additional input on the proposed plans.
Director Ericson indicated the Planning Commission had recently heard a rezoning request for
Red Oak Estates Number 3 and noted it was a two hour meeting and no resolution was reached.
He then indicated that the Planning Commission expects to come to resolution on the matter at
its June 19, 2002 meeting.
Mayor Sonterre asked whether the meeting on June 17, 2002 would contain the same content and
format as the one held several weeks ago.
Director Ericson indicated he did not want to discourage any residents from attending but noted
the material and presentation would be nearly the same as the previous meeting.
Finance Director Hansen provided a memo to Council on the finances of the golf course,
indicated that the information would require considerable discussion, and recommended the
matter be discussed at an upcoming work session.
Mayor Sonterre asked that the matter be placed on the July work session agenda.

Council Member Marty indicated he would like to know what the legal fees for the lawsuit at the
golf course were, what the settlement amount was, where that money went, and how the legal
fees were paid.
Golf Course Manager Longville indicated the recently resodded green would be ready for play by
Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.
Golf Course Manager Longville indicated that the Bridges was having a father's day sale to move
some excess inventory. He then noted that it maybe necessary to have additional sales
throughout the year to move the merchandise.
Golf Course Manager Longville indicated that to the best of his knowledge it seems that the
damage to the green was due to vandalism. He then indicated he had brought Dr. Donald White
and Dr. Brian Horgen out to look at it and they agreed.
•
