Council Member Marty asked what had been changed in the easement revision. <br />Director Ericson indicated the easements were revised to be consistent with the approved plat. <br />Mayor Sonterre closed the public hearing at 8:22 p.m. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Thomas. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 5775, a <br />Resolution Reapproving the Preliminary Plat for the Mermaid Addition Major Subdivision. <br />Council Member Marty thanked Staff for updating this matter. <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br />C. Report on Proceeds of Clear Channel Billboard Lease Payments. <br />This item was moved to the July work session agenda. <br />D. Quarterly Report Police Department <br />Deputy Chief Brennan reviewed and explained the two recent critical incidents that happened in <br />the City. <br />Deputy Chief Brennan reviewed the various training that he and other officers had completed and <br />gave an explanation of the active shooter training he recently completed at Hillview. <br />Deputy Chief Brennan indicated that he was unable to attend the FBI training due to the <br />AFSCME strike but had been refunded his tuition and placed on the top of the list for next year. <br />Deputy Chief Brennan indicated the police department had obtained four sets of stop sticks and <br />had been trained to use them in a pursuit situation. <br />Deputy Chief Brennan showed the night vision equipment to Council and explained how it is <br />used. <br />Deputy Chief Brennan indicated that one officer had received training on the handheld Tazer <br />which is a nonlethal weapon and will now be able to train other officers. He also noted the <br />department is working on a policy concerning the use of the Tazer. <br />Deputy Chief Brennan reviewed the grants the police department is currently using and noted <br />that a federal and state grant would be combined to replace body armor at no cost to the City. <br />Deputy Chief Brennan indicated that he had recently been informed that the City would not be <br />receiving the local law enforcement grant because the amount of funds available has been <br />reduced and the City's crime data is not bad enough to qualify. <br />
