He
then noted that he would be meeting with the other Ramsey County municipalities to discuss the
options. Deputy Chief Brennan indicated he had gotten a quote six months ago from a vendor
and it was approximately $65,000 for the software and $10,000 for support.
Deputy Chief Brennan indicated a tobacco compliance check had been done recently and every
one passed. He then said he attributes that to the new tobacco ordinance and increased
awareness.
Deputy Chief Brennan indicated that the DARE program recently graduated 108 students.
Deputy Chief Brennan indicated that the number of police calls to the Community Center has
decreased since the video surveillance system was installed.
Deputy Chief Brennan indicated that the AFSCME strike resulted in 52 hours of comp time and
22 hours of overtime for his department. He also indicated that the data backlog had been
brought current.
Deputy Chief Brennan reviewed the police call information for the last quarter with Council.
Deputy Chief Brennan indicated he had drafted a memo concerning the bussing situation for
Pinewood and Edgewood schools and noted that there is an officer assigned to the safety task
force.
Council Member Stigney thanked Deputy Chief Brennan for the memo concerning the bussing
situation as he had been receiving calls on the matter. He then asked if the critical crossing
locations had been determined.
Deputy Chief Brennan indicated that the task force would be working on identifying the critical
crossing locations.
Council Member Marty asked whether the Chief's vehicle had been repaired and whether Deputy
Chief Brennan was driving it.
Deputy Chief Brennan indicated he has been driving the new vehicle to break it in.
Council Member Marty asked if the unmarked squad was on the streets.
Deputy Chief Brennan indicated that the unmarked squad is an administrative vehicle as it is not
equipped with all of the features of a patrol vehicle.
