He further commented that he felt the need to <br />inform Council that his pay is well below the median and he has been with the City for 7 years. <br />Golf Course Manager Longville commented that when you have an employee that is worthy of <br />hanging onto you compensate the employee. He then said that he feels Ken is a very important <br />part of the business. <br />Council Member Stigney asked if this would be in line with the budget. <br />Golf Course Manager Longville indicated he had figured $45,000 for Mr. Manthis salary when <br />he did his budget. <br />Ayes - 4 Nays - 1(Stigney) Motion carried. <br />C. Resolution 5808 Approving a Step Increase for Givonna Reed <br />• <br />Mayor Sonterre read Resolution 5808. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Thomas. To Approve Resolution 5808, a Resolution Approving a <br />Step Increase for Givonna Reed. <br />Council Member Stigney commented that this was a position changed by the City Administrator <br />to make an Assistant City Administrator rather than an Assistant to the City Administrator. He <br />then said that he did not support that change and does not support an increase for that position. <br />Mayor Sonterre clarified that the City Administrator did not make the change she made a <br />recommendation to Council and Council made the change. <br />Council Member Marty indicated he agreed with Council Member Stigney's comments and <br />noted that this was merely a promotion and the position was not advertised. <br />Ayes - 3 Nays - 2(Stigney/Marty) Motion carried. <br />• <br />9. REPORTS <br />Assistant City Administrator Reed asked for authorization to advertise for the police <br />administrative assistant. <br />Council Member Stigney said he thought the authority for that lied with the Commission. <br />Assistant City Administrator Reed indicated that, in the past, she and the Deputy Chief had gone <br />through the applications and kept the Commission informed as to the hiring for the <br />administrative assistant. <br />
