Resolution 5886 Closing the Citizen Donation Fund and the Employee Pop Fund
Finance Director Hansen indicated that as part of his review to assist the City in complying with
the new government accounting standards he has found that the citizen donation fund and the
employee pop fund are lumped into the agency funds and that is not an appropriate location for
them. He then recommended splitting the donation fund by placing the funds to assist citizens in
emergency situations to the police budget and the remainder going to park and recreation.
Finance Director Hansen indicated the employee pop fund receives commissions off of the pop
machine in City Hall and was used for employee appreciation events. He then recommended that
the amounts be rolled in to the general funds in order to clean up the balance sheet.
MOTION/SECOND: Stigney/Sonterre.
