Mounds View City Council December 9, 2002 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br />Council Member Thomas asked whether the check issue in the staff report needed to be dealt <br />with if there is a meeting on December 30, 2002. <br />Finance Director Hansen indicated he would do a just and correct claims for the December 30, <br />2002 meeting. <br />Council Member Marty asked for clarification on 7860 Groveland Road for the unlawful detainer <br />action. <br />City Attorney Riggs indicated the charges were for an unlawful detainer action to obtain <br />possession of the property. <br />Council Member Marty asked whether the $2,100 attorney fee charge for the Police Civil Service <br />Commission was authorized by them. <br />City Attorney Riggs indicated he was asked to attend their meetings so he assumes the services <br />were authorized. <br />City Administrator Miller indicated the Police Civil Service Commission had legal questions <br />regarding their status that she could not answer so the City Attorney was asked to attend the <br />meetings. <br />Council Member Marty commented that there was another bill for the Kessel and <br />Hammerschmidt matter. He then asked if the Kessel matter was finished. <br />City Administrator Miller indicated that Mr. Kessel had not yet signed the final agreement. <br />Council Member Marty asked what AFSCME matters were still pending and noted there was a <br />charge for $800.00 for AFSCME matters. <br />City Administrator Miller indicated there are a number of issues pending and noted there were <br />five age discrimination claims, one of which was recently ruled on by the courts. She then <br />indicated there is a grievance filed by Mr. Houston and Mr. Chisholm still outstanding. <br />Council Member Marty indicated he was not aware of the age discrimination matters and asked <br />how many there were. <br />City Administrator Miller indicated there is a total of five with one ruled on and four pending. <br />Council Member Marty indicated he did not realize there were five. <br />City Administrator Miller clarified that there are only three outstanding at this time. <br />Council Member Marty asked when Council was going to be informed. <br />
