PUBLIC INPUT
David Jahnke of 8428 Eastwood Road addressed Council and said he is concerned about
spending and asked the Mayor to take the lead in asking Staff to scale back on spending.
Mayor Linke said he agreed that Staff should look at what can be cut to save money but said he
does not want to get to the point where not spending the money now costs more in the long run.
Mr. Jahnke agreed but said he feels every department head needs to look at expenses and see
what they really need and what can wait.
Mayor Linke indicated Council has said that the wish list should be prioritized as the City is
looking at approximately $300,000 in cuts this year and $600,000 in cuts next year and things
will be difficult.
Mr. Jahnke indicated he did not feel it was necessary to remodel City Hall. The building is not
falling down and money is tight.
Mr. Jahnke said he likes paths and parks but those are not necessary items in times like these
when money is tight.
