Mounds View City Council February 24, 2003 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br />Mayor Linke explained that the City has the money for paths and parks and those funds do not <br />come from the tax base. <br />Council Member Marty indicated he would like to schedule a work session for March 17, 2003 to <br />discuss the budget and how the City can cut expenses. <br />Mayor Linke indicated he was hoping to have an administrator on board for the budget <br />discussions but it is time to look at the budget. <br />Council set a work session for March 17, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. <br />Mayor Linke asked Mr. Ericson to have the department head begin reviewing expenses and be <br />prepared to discuss what can be trimmed from budgets. <br />5. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS <br />A. Resolution 5954 Authorizing a Step Increase for David Parker, Golf Course <br />Grounds & Equipment Manager <br />Council Member Stigney asked if this individual is working at the present time. <br />Golf Course Manager Burg indicated he is not working currently but has been working as needed <br />over the winter. <br />Council Member Stigney indicated the suggestion to make him full time was to have him <br />maintain the equipment and file reel blades. He then asked if that had been accomplished. <br />Golf Course Manager Burg indicated that he is in the process of putting the equipment back <br />together and all the grinding will be done before the season begins. She then said that they have <br />made arrangements with New Brighton to use their equipment so that the City could save the <br />$2,000 on equipment rental. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Gunn. To Approve Resolution 5954, a Resolution Authorizing a <br />Step Increase for David Parker, Golf Course Grounds and Equipment Manager. <br />Interim City Administrator Ericson read Resolution 5954. <br />Ayes - 4 Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br />6. JUST AND CORRECT CLAIMS <br />Council Member Marty asked what the water use permit was for. <br />Golf Course Manager Burg indicated the state requires the City to pay a fee for the use of water <br />for irrigation at the golf course. <br />
