Resolution 5985, Approving a Step Increase for Pete Szurek <br />Interim City Administrator Ericson indicated the step increase is in keeping with the City's <br />personnel policy and the collective bargaining unit. The department head has made a <br />recommendation that the employee be approved for the increase. <br />Interim City Administrator Ericson read Resolution 5985. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Council Member Quick/Council Member Marry. To Approve Resolution <br />5985, a Resolution Approving a Step Increase for Pete Szurek. <br />Council Member Many pointed out that Mr. Szurek started employment with City in 1998 but <br />started this full time position in 2000. <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br />C. Resolution No. 5986, Approving a Step Increase for John Hughes <br />Interim City Administrator Ericson indicated the step increase is in keeping with the City's <br />personnel policy and the collective bargaining unit. The department head has recommended <br />approval of the increase. <br />Interim City Administrator Ericson read Resolution 5986. <br />Council Member Gunn asked the difference between level twos and threes versus B's and C's. <br />Public Works Director Lee indicated the difference is that Mr. Hughes is a custodial employee at <br />the Community Center and that is a different pay scale. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Marty. To Approve Resolution 5986, a Resolution Approving a <br />Step Increase for John Hughes. <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 Motion carried <br />D. Resolution No. 5987, Authorizing the Hiring of Jeffrey Hayes as a Sanitary <br />Sewer Maintenance Employee <br />Public Works Director Lee addressed Council and indicated that Jeffrey Hayes is the number one <br />candidate for the sanitary sewer maintenance position. He then indicated that the City received <br />45 applications and Staff interviewed 14 candidates before making its recommendation. <br />
