Mounds View City Council August 25, 2003
Regular Meeting Page 2
1 Mayor Linke asked Staff to look into whether the manhole at Mr. Field's location is necessary.
2
3 Council Member Quick indicated that he remembered Council giving direction to have the
4 manhole buried.
5
6 Council Member Quick indicated that it is possible that the contractor missed the center of the
7 road when the storm sewer was installed.
8
9 David Jahnke of 8428 Eastwood Road asked if Council has heard whether there is going to be a
1 o rezone to get the billboards on the golf course.
11
12 Community Development Director Ericson indicated the Planning Commission is looking into
13 the City's public facilities zoning districts and will be presenting a recommendation to Council in
14 the near future.
15
16 Mr. Jahnke indicated the reason he is concerned is that the golf course has no choice but to look
17 at other options because they are not making money at that course.
18
19 Mr. Jahnke indicated he is concerned with accountability, the budget and the community center
20 because they are all high buck items. He then asked whether the loan to the golf course to
1 purchase the golf carts was the fourth or fifth loan given to keep the course running.
2
23 Finance Director Hansen indicated he was not sure how many loans there are to the golf course
24 and would need to look into the matter.
25
26 Mr. Jahnke indicated that it seems to him that the course keeps rolling along and the City keeps
27 subsidizing it when it is short of money.
28
29 Council Member Quick asked if the City is going as fast as possible on the rezoning.
30
31 City Administrator Ulrich indicated the City is pursuing the rezoning as fast as is possible while
32 following normal procedures.
33
34 6. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS
35
36 None.
37
38 7. JUST AND CORRECT CLAIMS
39
40 A. Just and Correct Claims
41
42 Council Member Marty asked Staff to put the Kennedy & Graven invoices on the agenda for the
~3 meeting that the City Attorney attends.
4
