Mounds View City Council February 23, 2004 <br />Regular Meeting Page 11 <br />1 Finance Director Hansen indicated that the users of three units or less were mostly single family <br />• 2 homes and a few townhomes. He then said that the apartment buildings usually have one meter <br />3 for the entire building so it would be difficult to break those down. <br />4 <br />5 Council Member Quick asked whether the Staff recommendation would generate enough to <br />6 support the system. <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />l0 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />• 23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />29 <br />30 <br />31 <br />32 <br />33 <br />34 <br />35 <br />36 <br />37 <br />38 <br />39 <br />40 <br />41 <br />42 <br />43 <br />Finance Director Hansen indicated that it would because there is still a fixed amount of $21.00 <br />per quarter and the variable rate was to pay for the bill that the City gets from the Metropolitan <br />Council for wastewater treatment. <br />Council Member Quick indicated that he switches his support to the three unit minimum as <br />recommended by Staff. <br />Finance Director Hansen explained that Staff would not be able to enter all the information <br />quickly enough to meet the effective date for January 1, 2004 on May bills so the effective date <br />would need to be April 1, 2004 for bills received in August. <br />Council Member Many asked for clarification on charges for Laundromats and car washes. <br />Finance Director Hansen indicated the information was added to the Ordinance but that is the <br />way they have been billed all along and it is billed on a per residential equivalent connection. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Stigney. To Waive the Reading, Approve the Second Reading and <br />Adopt Ordinance 729, an Ordinance Setting Sanitary Sewer Rates for Service in the Year 2004 as <br />Amended. <br />ROLL CALL: Linke/Quick/Marty/Stigney/Gunn. <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br />Council Member Quick told the Mayor that in the future when there is a personal attack made he <br />expects the Mayor to gavel that person down because they are totally out of line and next time he <br />intends to ask for a censure. <br />D. Resolution 6195, a Resolution Authorizing Severance Payment for <br />Reed Krogh <br />MOTION/SECOND: Many/Quick. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 6195, a <br />Resolution Authorizing Severance Payment for Reed Krogh. <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br />• <br />
