MEETING IS CALLED TO ORDER 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 3. ROLL CALL: Marty, Gunn, Flaherty, Stigney and Thomas NOT PRESENT: None. 4. APPROVAL OF AGENDA A. Monday, June 13, 2005 City Council Agenda. MOTION/SECOND: Flaherty/Gunn. To Approve the Monday, June 13, 2005 agenda as presented. Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 Motion carried. 5. PUBLIC INPUT Linda Taylor, 5711 Quincy Street, stated that she is here today to ask the Council for their help in making the crosswalk areas across Highway 10 safer for the children who have to cross over to Edgewood. She expressed concerns about the safety stating that there is a real need for a crossing bridge or safety guards during school hours so that the children can cross safely. She stated that her son walks to school between 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. and she wants him and other children to be safe. She explained that her son, along with several other children cross at Edgewood and the light only stays on long enough to get half way across Highway 10 noting that the easiest route would be to cross at County Road H and Highway 10. She asked the Council to add this item to a future agenda for discussion and resolution. She stated that she has several parents with her tonight who are also in support of her concerns adding that she is willing to do whatever they need to help address the safety issues. Mayor Marty acknowledged her concerns stating that he has timed this light and the change over from green to yellow is 12 seconds if the button is not pushed for pedestrians. He stated that the • Council has discussed this issue before and plans to discuss it again in the near future.
