Mounds View City Council October 12, 2009 <br />Regular Meeting Page 6 <br />• E. Set a Public Hearing for Monday, October 26, 2009, at 7:10 p.m. for the <br />Introduction and First Reading of Ordinance 838, Code Amendment to <br />Chapter 1125.06 about Penalties. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gum~/Mueller. To Approve the Consent Agenda Items A - E. <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br />F. Resolution 7508, Approval to Expend the Funds Awarded in the 2009 Justice <br />Assistance Recovery Grant. <br />Council Member Mueller stated the Police Department was awarded a grant of $21,299 from the <br />U.S. Department of Justice as part of the Recovery Funding Act that will be used to purchase in- <br />squad and City Hall security cameras. She noted this is another opportunity that the Police Chief <br />has pursued and resulted in a nice award to purchase needed equipment. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Stigney. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 7508, <br />Approval to Expend the Funds Awarded in the 2009 Justice Assistance Recovery Grant. <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br />9. JUST AND CORRECT CLAIMS <br />Council Member Mueller referenced Page 2, repairs made to a vehicle. Finance Director Beer <br />advised it is a police vehicle. Council Member Mueller referenced Page 2, a charge for road <br />striping and painting. Finance Director Beer advised that work was conducted all over the City, <br />except in the street project areas. Council Member Mueller explained that the lane striping at <br />Silver Lake Road and County Road 10 was not done. Public Works Director DeBar explained <br />the arrows at that intersection were placed when the paving occurred, and the latex lane striping <br />will be done later by the city's contractor. <br />Council Member Stigney referenced Page 4, MR Sign for $1,640. Public Works Director DeBar <br />stated they are traffic signs for the street project. <br />Council Member Mueller referenced Page 4, North Valley, Inc. for $716,398.90. Public Works <br />Director DeBar stated it is the September monthly payment for the 2009 street improvement <br />project. He provided an update on the project status and that temporary transitions will be placed <br />around manholes and extension boxes if the wear course cannot be laid (due to cold weather <br />conditions). <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull.
