MEMO TO: Mayor and City Council
FROM: Director Public Works/Conm:unity Development
DATE: July 1, 1982
SUBJECT: FINAL APPROVAL OI•' OAK LAKE POND
The City of Mounds• View received a request on May 10, 1982,
from Kraus -Anderson to approve the pond area as modified. The
revised data was sent to Short-Elliott-Ilendrickson for review.
Attached is the Short-Elliott-liendri.ckson response.
In summary, the changes are as follows:
Initial Proposal Revised Proposal
Pond Storage 50 AC -FT 40.5 AC -FT
r-.
Discharge Rate 15 CFS 12.5 CFS
Drainage Rate 266 Acres 203 Acres
Peak discharge rate before development was 64 cubic feet per
second (CFS). The pond therefore meets or exceeds the require-
ments of Resolution No. 983.
The Short-Elliott-Iiendrickson report also comments on the follow-
ing items:
1) Pond storage will be needed for property east of Long
Lake Road
2) Future flow under Long Lake Road will have to be
restricted to approximately 3 CFS with approximately
9 AC -FT of storage.
3) Flow downstream through 27 inch RCP from Rige Lane
to Rice Creek is improved but not completely resolved.
Therefore, it is recommended that the City Council approve the
modified Oak Lake Pond.
JCJ/bc
Attachment
n
