TO: Clerk -Administrator <br />FROM: Police Department <br />DATE: September 22, 1982 <br />RE: Liquor License Application for Povlitzki's <br />The following investigation was done on Conroys Dar, 992 Arcade, St. Paul: <br />Drove to area of 992 Arcade and observed it to be a small neighborhood <br />business area. According to a resident on Jenks Ave. there are very few <br />private residences in the area, most are duplexes. <br />Interviewed 4 individuals, 3 males, 1 female, on the street near Conroys <br />Dar. All four stated that they lived within a block and a half of the bar. <br />All four stated that Conroys was a well run business and they had no <br />complaints. <br />Called St. Paul Police Department, talked to a member of the Narcotics <br />Unit. Records in that Unit indicate no drug investigations during <br />past 5 years involving Conroys. <br />Called St. Paul Police Department, to a member of the Vice Unit. <br />Records in that Unit indicate no liquor violations or problems related <br />with prostitution during past 4 years involving Conroys. <br />Called Maplewood Police Department, talked to Assistant Chief, Thomas <br />Hagen. Ile stated that he's known the. Baker family since 1955 and coached <br />all the boys in Little League Baseball. Stated all of the Bakers are <br />fine people. His personal knowledge of Joe Baker is that Joe is a fine <br />young man. <br />Called St. Paul Liquor Licensing. Was informed that there was no <br />complaint against Donald Baker regarding any business operations. <br />From all information obtained in investigation, both applicants appear <br />to be completely acceptable. <br />1�1 <br />
