s'
MEMO TO: Mayor and City
FROM:
DATE: September 23, 1982
SUBJECT: PINEWOOD DRIVE STREETLIGHT PETITION
Attached please find a copy of a petition received by this
office for the placement of two streetlights on Pinewood Drive
between Quincy Street and 35W. The petitioners have requested
the placement of lights between 2071 and 2077 Pinewood Drive
and 2127 Pinewood Drive. Staff review of the petition per a
memorandum and attached map from Engineering/Planning Technician
Frank Kampel indicates that the petition complies with the City's
requirements, however, one location proposed by the petitioners
has been determined by representatives of Northern States Power
to be inaccessible due to the lack of a pole in the rear yard
supplying primary power. Staff has discussed an alternate location
•t, i .. ible for the d:.$trlh.i ti^n
pj:oposed by NSP Wli. h the inuaiVidual rccp0...ns+
of the petition within the neighborhood, Mrs. Larry McLaughlin,
who has indicated that the alternate site would be acceptable.
Based on these discussions and the acceptability of the alternate
location by residents in the area staff would recommend Council
authorization for the placement of streetlights on Pinewood Drive
between 2127 and 2119 and between 2085 and 2077 Pinewood Drive.
Northern States Power has indicated that these lights would be
installed at no expense to the City of Mounds View, therefore,
our expense would be limited to the payment of the monthly
operating costs for these lights and sufficient :ponies appear to
be available in the budget for this purpose.
DFP/pf
Attachments
