RESOLUTION NO. 1622 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION <br />OF A WARNING DEVELOPMENT PLAN AND APPLICATION <br />FOR FEDERAL ASSISTANCE <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Mounds View to <br />provide adequate emergency warning system coverage to the residents <br />of the City of Mounds View; and <br />WHEREAS, the City's present system provides coverage to only <br />30% of the City's population which has been determined to be inade- <br />quate; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Warning Development Plan, dated <br />June 1, 1983, proposes the addition of a third siren to the City's <br />system, as well as the relocation of the existing two sirens which <br />would provide warning coverage for 90% of the City's population; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View wishes to obtain Federal <br />assistance in the purchase and installation of the third siren, as <br />well as the relocation of the existing two sirens, which is estimated <br />to cost $15,000; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City of Mounds View to <br />comply with all of the requirements of the State of Minnesota and <br />Federal government relating to the Warning Development Plan and <br />receipt of Federal assistance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Citv Council of the <br />City of Mounds View approves the Warning Development Plan, dated <br />June 1, 1983, and application for Federal assistance, and authorizes <br />their submission to the State of Minnesota, Department of Emergency <br />Services. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk -Administrator is <br />authorized to sign all documents required for the submission of the <br />aforementioned Warning Development Plan and application for Federal <br />assistance on behalf of the City of Mounds View and act as the City's <br />authorized representative with respect to this project. <br />ATTEST: <br />Adopted this 27th day of June, 1983. <br />Mayor <br />i'� <br />L (SEAL) - <br />Clerk -Administrator <br />
