MEMO TO: Mayor and City Council/Wetlands Committee
FROM: John C. Johnson n
DATE: September 1, 1982 `
SUBJECT: RESPONSES TO COST IMPACT STUDY QUESTIONNAIRE
Municipal Service Categories
General Government: Planning
Community Development
Engineering
Public Works 6 Utilities: Streets
Water System
Sanitary Sewer System
Storm Sewer
1. Status of Current Services
A. Currently in both General Government areas and in Public Works, existing personnel
levels and equipment are meeting the needs and demands of the community. Although
this may require prioritization of service needs and resulting in a timing schedule,
all major tasks or services are made or completed within tolerable time limits.
Existing qualifications and expertise of staff together with selective use of con-
sultant work or laborers allows for a reasonable level of service delivery.
B. The area of Public Works may be understaffed depending on service expectations and
the use of seasonal laborers. Presently, staffing levels include two men in water
and two men in sewer, streets and storm sewer. Depending on service demands in the
area of streets, sewer and storm sewer and the use of seasonal laborers, additional
staffing might be necessary. To date, due to the shared experience of the Public
Works staff, demands have been met reasonably.
2. Number of Staff; Costs of Staff
(see chart on Page 2)
