ITEM
MEMO TO: Clerk-AdministraLor and City Council
FROM: Director of Public Works/Community Development
DATE: September 1, 1982
SUBJECT:• Zoning Code Amendment/Senior Citizen Housing
Attached for your review and consideration is Planning Commission
Resolution No. 58-82 regarding proposed 'Zoning Code additions for
senior citizen housing. The Planning Commission adopted this reso-
lution to provide a means to regulate senior citizen housing, should
another such development be proposed in the future. Specifically
addressed is the parking requirements for seniors. The proposed
parking admendment of one space per unit was the basis for approving
a variance from 100 to 40 spaces.
Please review the proposed Code amendment and direct staff as to
procedure for adoption. Either adopt by ordinance this amendment
itself or adopt this amendment along with the rest of Chapter 40.
Should you go with adopting by ordinance the amendment itself,
staff should be directed to draft the ordinance and set the public
hearing date. Should adopting the amendment along with the rest of
Chapter 40 be preferrable, Council could approve this amendment and
it will be included in the revised Zoning Code for total adoption at
a later date.
/bc
Attachments
