DATE: August 26, 1982 <br />TO: MAMA 49 City Managers <br />FROM: Jeff Sweet, Chairman of '49 Bargaining Committee <br />RE: Status Report on Negotiations <br />The negotiations are currently in mediation. One mediation session has been <br />held and a second is scheduled for September 9. <br />The status of the Union's Demands are as follows: <br />Demands Agreed To: <br />9.2 " .. seven (7) days advance notice." <br />18.5 Job Posting: MAMA has agreed to post jobs on designated bulletin boards <br />but not include requirement in contract. <br />Demands Dropped: <br />9.5 Any work performed on Saturday shall be compensated at the time and one- <br />half (1 112) rate. Any work on Sunday or Holidays shall be compensated at <br />two (2) times the hourly rate. <br />9.6 Shift Differential -- Shift differential for employees working on assigned <br />shifts which begin before 6:00 AM or which end at or after 7:00 PM shall be <br />twenty cents (E0.20) per hour for all hours worked on that shift. <br />10.2 The Employer must offer overtime to the employee who has the least amount <br />of overtime credited. <br />15.4 Supervisor Doing Bargaining Unit Work -- The City hereby agrees that the <br />employees' Supervisor shall do no work which would preclude regular <br />employees from doing such work or collecting overtime pay without giving <br />every qualified employee the opportunity to do such work. <br />22 Working Out of Classification -- The most senior certified Operator shall <br />be assigned to heavy equipment first. <br />Union Demands in Dispute: <br />7.7 Compensatory Time -- Time off the employees regularly scheduled work sche- <br />dule in lieu of overtime payment at the rate of one and one-half I1 lft) <br />hours compensatory time or eachour wore n excess o e a ours <br />per aay or forty (40) hours oer week. <br />V� <br />
