Congress <br />This is a follow up to staff's memo dated September 16, 1982 requesting <br />financial assistance to attend the 1982 National Recreation and Park <br />Association Conference. The City Council indicated at that time that <br />they would not have the financial means to underwrite my personal <br />attendance at the conference. Staff understands and totally concurs <br />with this position but I have personally decided to attend the confer- <br />ence at my own expense. The question that staff is raising at this time <br />is regarding the feasibility of granting time off with pay for attendance <br />at the conference. The conference begins on Sunday, October 24 and con- <br />cludes on Wednesday, October 27 so the request would be three days off <br />with pay for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, October 25 through October 27. <br />Should the Council determine that this would not be within their current <br />policies, staff would like to request vacation time for that period so that <br />I could attend the conference on my own personal time. <br />Should you have any questions regarding this issue, staff will be in attend- <br />ance at, Monday evenings meeting or feel free to contact myself directly <br />at extension 41. <br />DKA/slI <br />
