CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL <br />Page Three <br />The successful contractor is to provide instruction to the City <br />mechanic in the installation of conversion kits and maintenance <br />in order to obtain optimum engine performance and to vehicle users <br />in vehicle operation at no cost to the City. All safety rules <br />as apply to the handling and use of Liquid Propane shall be <br />thoroughly stressed in the training program. <br />The successful contractor shall warranty all parts for a minimum <br />of 90 days, including labor to replace such parts if required by <br />the City and at no expense to the City. All other warranties <br />as offered the general public shall also apply. <br />It will be the responsibility of the contractor to determine <br />that the engines in the units to be converted are compatible <br />to propane fuel and that such usage will not cause damage to or <br />reduce the life of the engines. All equipment used in the <br />conversion shall be new and current production models incorporating <br />the latest technical advances in the art. Equipment shall be <br />Underwriters Laboratory and/or A.S.M.E. Approved with spare parts <br />stocked by the facility making the conversions or available from <br />other stock within 24 hours of request for such parts. <br />The successful contractor must supply a performance bond in the <br />amount of $5,000.00 which will be in effect for a 12 month period <br />from the award of the contract. Contractor will not use the <br />contract in any advertising or promotion of the contractor's <br />business without express approval of the City. <br />Right is reserved to evaluate equipment proposed to be used in <br />the conversion and to make award based on that evaluation to <br />other than the low bidder if such award would be considered to <br />be in the best interest of the City. <br />PART II SPECIFICATIONS - Furnish Propane and Associated Pumping <br />Equipment <br />Furnish and install a liquid propane gas system with a minimum <br />capacity of 1,000 gallons complete with pump, scale dispensing <br />system. fuel meter in gallons registering total fuel dispensed <br />and a trip type meter measuring gallons installed in each <br />individual vehicle. The City of Mounds View will furnish proper <br />electrical power to the station as required. Contractor shall <br />provide all maintenance, 14nc11.1dinq parts and labor on the <br />installation during the period of the coaiLract:. Ecuipment'shall <br />meet or exceed all requirements of the National Fire ProtecLicn <br />Association. Location for the installation will be the City of <br />Mounds View Public {corks Garage at 2466 Bronson Drive, Mounds <br />View, Minnesota. The City will prepare the site, provide necessary <br />fencing and underground electrical service. The City will also <br />provide all necessary permits and authorization for such installation. <br />
