Uses and Land Use. <br />Areas of hazardous waste generation should be identified and sites <br />within close proximity should be considered to reduce road hauling and <br />Potential exposure and accident possibilities. On the other end, prox- <br />imity to authorized hazardous waste disposal sites should be considered to <br />provide easier and rapid transport and disposal of processed material. <br />1. Community type. <br />Consideration should be given to the type of community adjacent to <br />proposed sites. Selection of potential sites adjacent to or within bedroom <br />communities should be avoided. <br />The preliminary <br />realistic forconsideration since established within Fridley <br />anumberof theprot <br />pertieswithin nthe <br />r site areas A and B are parks or have structures constructed on them. A <br />revised map was submitted to the board but apparently not utilized. Attach <br />ed is a city map identifying those vacant heavy industrial areas within our <br />Comprehensive Plan. <br />The City Council is quite concerned about the criteria and require- <br />ments associated with the selection of Hazardous Waste Sites. Accordingly <br />we have scheduled is presentation by the Waste Management Board at the Fridley <br />Civic Center on November 15, 1982 at 8:30 P.M.
