y <br />ACCOUNTABILITY FOR SUPERVISION <br />Participates in decisions relating to the selection, pro- <br />motion, transfer, discipline or termination of all assigned <br />personnel. <br />Orients assigned personnel to City and Department policies <br />and procedures, and clearly communicates the duties and <br />responsibilities assigned so personnel may proceed with <br />certainty in performance of their positions. <br />Evaluates continually the demonstrated performance of the <br />Department and assigned personnel as the basis for counsel <br />and guidance, designed to stimulate improved performance <br />and prepare employees for additional opportunities as may <br />become available. <br />Creates a working climate in which assigned personnel are <br />encouraged to develop and achieve their full potential, and <br />demonstrates by personal example the desired standards of <br />conduct and work performance. <br />
