39.14 <br />iL project beyond the edge of said roof in any direction. For <br />the purposes of this subdivision, lights attached to the sign <br />structure and lights attached to the building and beamed <br />toward the sign structure shall be considered part of the sign <br />structure. <br />(2) Every such sign shall be either metal, metal clad, <br />incombustible, open wire or open metal sign, except that such <br />sign may have letters, figures, characters, or borders of wood <br />if such borders do not exceed four inches in width, and such <br />wooden letters, figures or characters do not cover more than <br />25% of the area of such sign, provided that in place of sheet <br />metal, substitution may be made of the following materials; <br />tempered pressed wood or other similar materials approved by <br />the building inspector, having equal properties as to strength, <br />fire and moisture resistance. <br />(3) No such sign shall be so placed as to prevent free <br />passage of person from one part of the roof to another. <br />(4) The building or structure upon which such sign is <br />placed, and all attachments or fastenings must be so constructed <br />as to safely resist the dead load and the wind load added by the <br />attached sign, and in such a manner as not to cause damage to <br />the building or structure on which such sign is placed. <br />(5) No roof sign shall be more than 65 feet in length nor <br />shall it extend more than 25 feet above the surface of the roof <br />of the building on which it is located. No roof sign shall <br />extend more than 45 feet above the average ground level of that <br />part of the street toward which it faces. <br />Subdivi5ion-147 Subdivision 7. Wall Signs; Construction <br />and Design. The following standards shall be maintained for <br />all wall <br />(1) No wall sign shall have a projection over a private <br />sidewalk or an established building line of more than 12 inches. <br />(2) The materials, construction and attachment of any <br />such sign shall meet the same standards and requirements as <br />roof signs. <br />Subdivision-157 Subdivision B. Banners and Temporary <br />Signs. The following standards shall be maintained for all <br />banners and temporary signs: <br />(1) Temporary signs and banners attached to any building <br />and constructed of canvas, plastic material, cloth or other <br />combustible material with or without framework, shall be strongly <br />constructed and shall be securely attached to their supports. <br />T'ney snail oe removed (including all framework and supports) as <br />soon as damaged or torn and in no case later than 60 days after <br />erection. <br />
