Nn ?-) <br />HAZARDOUS WASTE PROCESSING AREAS <br />The City has received notice from the Minnesota Waste Managment Board, <br />a copy is enclosed in your packet as an information item, indicating <br />that the Waste Management Board will meet on December 16th and 17th <br />to review the inventory of preliminary hazardous waste processing <br />areas identified by the Waste Management Board with the intention of <br />culling the list down to a smaller number of sites which they will <br />call proposed processing areas which the Waste Management Board will <br />then evaluate in greater detail prior to their recommendation regarding <br />the final siting of hazardous waste processing facilities in the <br />State of Minnesota. <br />Staff intends to attend these meetings when the sites located in <br />Anoka and Ramsey Counties are discussed, as well as the final selection <br />process is undertaken to be fully informed of the impacts this <br />selection process might potentially have on the City of Mounds View. <br />Should any Councilmembers be interested in also attending these meetings, <br />I will be more than happy to provide them with transportation. <br />CABLE TV FRANCHISE <br />On Wednesday, December 8th, the City of Mounds View was presented with <br />signed copies of the Cable TV Franchise between the City of Mounds <br />View and Group W, along with appropriate letters of credit and insurance <br />binders as* required by the franchise. Also at this time the City <br />received a check in the amount of $14,500.00 reflecting expenses <br />incurred by the City of Mounds View during the franchising process, <br />as well as an advance to the City of Mounds View in the amount of <br />$3,000.00 to fund the continuing operations of the North Suburban <br />Cable Communications Board, should the City of Mounds View determine <br />that it is our desire to continue having this Board oversee the <br />operations of the Cable TV Franchise. At a future date Jerry Skelly <br />will be appearing before the City Council to review and discusss a <br />proposed joint and cooperative agreement for the administration of <br />the cable system as proposed by the North Suburban Cable Communications <br />Board. This agreement is presently being reviewed by City Staff and <br />Attorney to insure that it is acceptable on an administrative and <br />legal basis and will be presenting it to you prior to Mr. Skelly's <br />presentation for your review and comments. <br />
