City r1aintainence <br />and Rescue Rooter were iixmediately called. I checked all house. - <br />hold appliances and confirmed that none were using or leaking <br />water. Water was found to be flowing from floor drains. <br />A man in a city car arrived and found water standing deep <br />in the sewer in the street. lie said he would call out a main- <br />tainence truck. <br />Rescue Rooter arrived, inspected briefly and said he could <br />not help because the problem was not on my property. <br />When city maintainence truck arrived water had risen to <br />5� inches throughout the entire basement. As soon as the truck <br />broke loose the blockage in the sewer line in the street, water <br />stopped flowing in and soon started to recede. Some excrement <br />remained on the floor. <br />Total damage is not yet known. Service Master has quoted $12Q <br />to dry out and clean a new carpet.
