'..#
3000 County Road tit
Moundsview, MN 55432
January 11, 1983
Mr. Don Pavley
Manager
City of Moundsview
2401 Highway 10
Moundsview, MN 55432
Dear Mr. Pavley:
On Saturday, January 8th, 1983 at about 5:00 P.M., I dis-
covered water in one section of my basement. City r1aintainence
and Rescue Rooter were iixmediately called. I checked all house. -
hold appliances and confirmed that none were using or leaking
water. Water was found to be flowing from floor drains.
A man in a city car arrived and found water standing deep
in the sewer in the street. lie said he would call out a main-
tainence truck.
Rescue Rooter arrived, inspected briefly and said he could
not help because the problem was not on my property.
When city maintainence truck arrived water had risen to
5 inches throughout the entire basement. As soon as the truck
broke loose the blockage in the sewer line in the street, water
stopped flowing in and soon started to recede. Some excrement
remained on the floor.
Total damage is not yet known. Service Master has quoted $12Q
to dry out and clean a new carpet. Material stored on or near
the floor has not been sorted to determine salvageablity.
Please contact your Insurance Company to initiate settlement.
Thank you,
Sincerely Yours,
. Veen- Fra
