If approved, it should help implement Council policy that <br />encourages the construction of modest -cost housing. <br />CHES MAR DEVELOPMENT - SF 4546 Sheffield 39 Lots Eagan, File No. 10857-1 <br />istr ct <br />Sheffield is an application for FHA subdivision approval. The 11.36 acre ' <br />development involves plans for construction and sale of 39 single-family homesr:'r:•;•;. <br />in a price range between $60,000 and $75,000. The site is on the south side -of; <br />Wilderness Run Road about 1.75 miles east of Pilot Knob Road in Eagan. The pro- ; '',•:.`' <br />posed development is compatible with the Eagan Comprehensive Plan reviewed by <br />the Council, and is located in the Metropolitan Urban Service Area. The pro-' <br />posed site location is conveniently accessible to most necessary and desirable <br />residential services. Central sewer and water are available and metropolitan <br />interceptor and treatment capacity is adequate. Highways, parks, and health <br />and daycare facilities are available nearby. The site is about a mile from a <br />bus line and neighborhood shopping facilities. School District 196 has ade- <br />quate capacity to accommodate the student population that may materialize as a <br />result of this proposed subdivision. No negative impact on the environment or <br />metropolitan services is anticipated if the proposal is implemented, Air and <br />vehicle traffic are not likely to detrimentally affect the intended residential <br />site use. It should be noted that no grading, surface drainage or soil suits <br />bility information was provided for this review. Consequently, although no <br />problems are anticipated, any related issues regarding this site could not.be <br />evaluated within the scope of this review.. The proposed development is <br />intended to provide diversity in the LUyL of ousing availahle within the com- <br />munity through the construction of homes that sell for less than E71,500 and 1t <br />are affordatle to buyers with modest incomes. OF TRANSPORTATION - FAA Pro osed REILS Installation Runway 35 <br />Anoka Air ort, File No. 0854-1 District 13 <br />„e rz�cra, .: iatinn Administration proposes to install runway end identi- <br />fication lights (REIL) to serve runway 35 at the Anoka County -Blaine Airport. <br />The REIL consists of two synchronized flashing lights located near the runway <br />threshold to provide rapid and positive identification of the approach end of a <br />runway. The lights are located forty feet from the runway edge and in line <br />with the existing runway threshold lights. Cost of the installation is <br />approximately twenty thousand dollars and is fully funded from the Federal <br />Airport and Airways Trust Fund with construction planned for June 1983. •This <br />safety project is located on airport property and is consistent with regional ., <br />Aviation System policies.
