Anderson, Direc or <br />Parks, Recreation and Fo t <br />DATE: March 31, 1983 <br />RE: New Brighton/Mounds View Tree and Stump Removal <br />Contract <br />Enclosed is a memo from City Forester Rick Wriskey which out- <br />lines the bids for the 1983 New Brighton/Mounds View tree and <br />stump removal contract. As you aware, we have entered into a <br />joint powers agreement with the City of New Brighton for <br />forestry services and we extended the contract in 1982 to <br />include a joint tree and stump removal contract. <br />Bid specs were prepared and opened in the City of New Brighton <br />on February 24 with five firms bidding on the 1983 contract. <br />Staff has included a list of the five tree firms and a <br />tabulation of the firms bids based on the 1982 tree removal <br />list. <br />Staff would recommend that we award the 1983 tree contract to <br />the low bid of Bluemel's Tree Service and that the City Council <br />place this item on the consent agenda for approval at the <br />April 11, 1983 meeting. <br />Should you have any questions regarding the tree and stump <br />removal contract, staff will be on hand Monday evening to <br />discuss the issue at greater length. <br />BKA/sll <br />Enclosure <br />
