(0111, MEMO TO: Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Public Works Foreman Kardell <br />DATE: September 21, 1983 <br />SUBJECT: UNIT 4610, 1979 PLYMOUTH VOLARF, <br />It is staffs opinion that the 1979 Volare be sold to the highest <br />bidder, D & T Auto, for $925.00. Two verbal bids were also <br />received; one from John's Auto for $900.00 and the other from <br />Lee's Wrecking for $750.00. <br />The Volare was purchased in 1979 as a squad car and was turned <br />over to City Hall as a staff car in 1981 and deadlined on March 1, <br />1983. The car is in dire need of costly repairs, such as, brakes, <br />exhaust, steering, tires, and transmission work, and is not an <br />economical vehicle. We presently have two Ford Fairmonts as staff <br />cars and no longer have any use for the Volare. <br />RECOMMENDATION: For the reasons stated above, staff would recommend <br />selling the 1979 Volare to D & T Auto for $925.00. <br />I GK/pf <br />/C <br />
