RESOUITION NO. 1670 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATI; OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE GROVELAND PARK FOUNDATION FOR 'THEIR <br />OUTSTANDING EFFORTS TOWARDS THE DEVELOPMENT AND <br />ENHANCEMENT OF GROVELAND PARK <br />WHEREAS, the Groveland Park Foundation has been <br />established to develop community pride and raise funds for the <br />development of the Groveland Park neighborhood; and <br />WHEREAS, the Groveland Park Foundation has coordinated and <br />sponsored eight special fundraising projects during the past year <br />with over $6,000.00 in monies raised for park development <br />projects; and <br />WIIEREIAS, the Groveland Park Foundation has coordinated two <br />neighborhood picnics with proceeds over $2,000.00 with hundreds <br />of neighborhood residents participating; and <br />WHEREAS, the Groveland Park Foundation has volunteered <br />hundreds of manhours towards park projects and maintenance <br />activities which was resulted in major cost savings for the City; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Groveland Park Foundation supervised the <br />1982/83 winter skating program which improved the quality of the <br />program as well as participation in the skating programs at <br />Groveland Park; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View City r^LIn.Ci1_ encourages <br />community involvement at the grass roots level to develop the <br />City's park system and other City amenities, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of <br />the City of Mounds View hereby congratulates and heartily <br />commends each of the Mounds View residents involved in the <br />coordination that has led to the tremendous growth and success of <br />the Groveland Park Foundation; and <br />
