Anderson, —Hi c or <br />Parks, Recreation anWe r <br />DATE: October 4, 1983 <br />RE: Ordinance #349 <br />Enclosed is a revised copy of Ordinance #349 outlining Chapter <br />35 in the city code relating to the Mounds View Festivities <br />Commission. The revised ordinance as proposed would reflect the <br />changes and modifications as directed by the City Council on <br />Monday, October 3, 1983. The changes that were made in the <br />ordinance are as follows: <br />1. Under "Composition" we clarified it to be consistent with the <br />remainder of the code stating that the Mayor would appoint <br />the members of the Festivities Commission. In addition, we <br />deleted the statement regarding residency in the City of <br />Mounds View as well as the statement on recommendations <br />coming from the Festivities Chairperson. <br />2. Under 35.03 item b we added with approval of the Commission. <br />3. Under 35.03 item c we added subject to approval of the City <br />Council. <br />4. Under 35.04 item no. 1 the dates were changed to reflect <br />September 30 of each year for appointments to terminate with <br />new members to be appointed at the first meeting in October. <br />Staff feels that this would be the logical time for the terms <br />to commence and terminate as the yearend report would be <br />completed as well as budget recommendations from the previous <br />commission. <br />5. The last item that was basically changed is that 35.07 and <br />35.08 were deleted and we will recommended to the Festivities <br />Commission that they be reinstated as a section of the <br />by-laws. <br />RECOMMENDATION: To schedule a first hearing of Ordinance #349, <br />Chapter 35, Mounds View Festivities Commission at the October 10, <br />1983 City Council meeting. <br />BKA/sll <br />Attachment <br />
