MEMO TO: Clerk -Administrator Pauley <br />FROM: Engineering/Planning Technician Kampel <br />DATE: November 7,.1983 <br />SUBJECT: STREETLIGHT REQUEST <br />Attached please find a request from the Mounds View School District <br />for the installation of a streetlight at the intersection of County <br />Road II and the Edgewood Community Center parking lot off County <br />Road If. I have contacted the Ramsey County Department of Public <br />Works and they advised me that the City should follow the same <br />procedures for the installation of streetlights on County roads as <br />it does on City streets. Using this, the request meets the criteria <br />as established by Resolution Nos. 1069 and 1354. Since the School <br />District (north side of County Road H) and the County (south side of <br />County Road H) are the only property owners, the request does include <br />the adequate number of requesters. The proposed location does fall <br />within an excessively long block and a so-called intersection (the <br />intersection of a parking area and County Road If). The nearest <br />streetlight is at the corner of Edgewood Drive and County Road H, <br />approximately 600 feet away. The Council should consider the effect <br />this request may have on other requests, if any, to install lights <br />at inLersections of parking lots and roads. This stretch of road <br />is quite long so a light along it may be beneficial from a safety <br />standpoint. The next nearest lights are at the Pettibone driveway <br />entrance and the Horse and Rider driveway entrance. <br />Please advise if you need any additional information. <br />PJK/pf <br />Attachment <br />
