��0 y <br />MEMO TO: Clerk -Administrator and City Council <br />FItOM: Engineering/Planning Technician <br />DATE: December 22, 1983 <br />SUBJECT: 5468 ADAMS STREET PUBLIC HEARING <br />The public hearing scheduled for December 27, 1983 at 7:40 p.m. <br />for the rezoning of property at 5468 Adams Street must be delayed <br />until such time as the second reading of the Zoning Code has <br />been conducted. This is due to the fact that the Planning <br />Commission recommended the rezoning to R-2 based upon new Zoning <br />Code language. <br />The applicants intend to use the property at 5468 Adamst Street <br />as a group day care. At present, group day care facilities are <br />allowed by conditional use permit in an R-3 District. The Planning <br />Commission objected to recommending a rezoning of this property <br />to R-3 but instead, citing the need for group day care facilities <br />in this City, recommended the Zoning Code be changed to allow <br />group day care facilities by conditional use permit in an R-2 <br />District. <br />Staff had envisioned that the second reading of the Zoning Code <br />Ordinance would have taken place on December 12, 1983. Staff <br />recommends that the holding of the public hearing and possible <br />first reading of an ordinance to rezone the property to R-2 be <br />held after the second reading of the Zoning Code Ordinance has <br />taken place. The schedule for this item would then be: <br />December 27 - Second reading of Zoning Code Ordinance <br />December 27 - Set rezoning public hearing for January 9 <br />January 3 - Council reviews rezoning application at <br />Agenda session <br />January 9 - Public hearing and first reading of <br />ordinance to rezone <br />February 4 - Zoning Code becomes effective <br />February 13 - Second reading of ordinance to rezone <br />March 17 - Rezoning becomes effective <br />.� If you have any questions, please contact me. <br />FJK/bc <br />
