p.� MEMO TO: Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Clerk -Administrator <br />DATE: January 3, 1984 <br />SUBJECT: METROPOLITAN AIRPORTS COMMISSION CAPITAL, IMPROVEMENT <br />PROGRAM AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN <br />At a meeting on the morning of January 3, 1984, the Metropolitan <br />Airports Commission Operations and Environmental Committee received <br />the proposed 1904-85 Capital Improvement Program and the 1986-1990 <br />Capital Improvement Plan from Commission staff. The Capital <br />Improvement Program calls for commencing the implementation of the <br />Master Plan for the Anoka County -Blaine Airport with the expenditure <br />aof nd$taxi0iway0system985 950for feethtorthecation ohenorth andttilenextensionorth-southofrunway the <br />east-west runway to 4,000 feet. The Capital Improvement Plan further <br />provideshe of the <br />in <br />the <br />Master Plan. <br />A map was presented at this meeting outlining the exact locations <br />work will be performed at the airport which was prepared as part of <br />j the plans for implementation of the Master Plan at the airport. I <br />have requested that Metropolitan Airports Commission staff provide <br />the City of Mounds View with a copy of this map and have been advised <br />that my request will be complied with. Also, in discussions with <br />Metropolitan Airports Commission staff regarding the implementation <br />of plans to man the airport control tower, I was advised that the <br />final decision on this matter will be that of the FAA. A repre- <br />sentative of the FAA was at this meeting and 1 was advised by him <br />that, although he was not aware of what plans the FAA had to man <br />the control tower, he would have the individual responsible for <br />this aspect of their operations contact me and advise me what their <br />plans are with respect to this matter. <br />Once the map anVor information ragardincr the manning of the control <br />tower are received by myself, this information will be forwarded to <br />you.
