�Itl ,1� io TO: MAYOR & COUNCIL PE'FROM: FINANCE DIRECTOR -TREASURER DATE: MARCH 8, 1984 RE: CALL FOR INSURANCE QUOTATIO14S Our insurance consultant, Corporate Risk Managers, Inc., is pres- ently finalizing insurance specifications in order that quotations may be solicited and an award made no later than May 1, 1984, the renewal date cf our present policies. To obtain competitive quotations it is our intent to publish a notice in our official newspaper, the New Brighton Bulletin, calling for quotations. In order that all agents receive an equal oppertunity to provide us with a quotation, specifications will not be released until noon on March 15, 1984. On that date copies of the specifications will be placed in your packets for the Agenda Session of March 19, 1984. At that agenda Session Mr. Brian Colway of Corporate Risk Managers, Inc. will review the specifications and answer any questions you may have. In order to allow insurance agents ample time to pick up specifi- cations and obtain quotations from insurance companies we have set noon on April 23, 1984 as the date that quotations are due. After a review of quotations submitted a recommendation will be made to you. In order that our insurance contract may be awarded on or before the renewal date of our present policies of May 1, 1984 staff requests a special meeting be set for 5:00 pm on April 30, 1984 to consider insurance quotations and award an insurance contract for 1984 - 1985. Should that time prove to be inconvenient, staff is receptive to an alternative time. RECCOMMENDATION Authorize the publication, in the official newspaper, of a notice calling for insurance quotations to be received no later than noon, April 23, 1984 and calling a special council meeting o April 30, 1984 to review insurance quotations and award a contract for insurance for 1984 - 1985.
