PATH TR-303 TRANSIT <br />Transit is presently non-functional due to damage from a fall <br />during the summer of 1983. <br />The surveying for the 1984 MSA Street Project, depending <br />nationaState <br />and County approval, should begin in late May. An op <br />transit will be needed from this time until the completion of the <br />project. <br />Options available: <br />- Buy a used transit for approximately $750.00 and <br />trade in our transit for $150.00 - $200.00. A <br />new transit costs $1300.00. <br />- Repair present transit. Brunson Instrument Co. has <br />given the City an estimate oft$221.38 for parts and <br />approximately'-$100.00 for labor. Repair time could <br />exceed four weeks due to availability of parts, re- <br />quiring the City to rent a transit for $100.00 a month. <br />Our recommendation is to authorize the repairs of our present unit <br />fort$321.38 as soon as possible and make arrangements for rental <br />equipment if the need arises. <br />BH/ds <br />
